Amateur Career
Glen was born in 1996 and started his career in the Golf industry as Head of Golf Services at Romanby Golf & Country Club, located near his hometown- Northallerton, North Yorkshire. Prior to working at Romanby Glen taught children from the age of 3 to adults over 70 to swim. From a young age he developed a passion for teaching. In 2017 Glen moved to Catterick Golf Club to begin his PGA Training under his playing coach and close friend Alex James (Head Professional). Both his Dad and Granddad are past Captains’ of the club. Glen’s Dad is a single figure handicapper, ex Teeside Union President and on the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs Committee. Glen grew up playing at both clubs and won 2 Club Championships and represented Yorkshire as a Junior. As a keen golfer Glen always had aspirations of playing professionally.
About
Professional Career
Over the past 8 years as a professional Glen has achieved several top 10 finishes in PGA events. In 2018, Glen qualified for the English PGA Championships at Saunton Golf Club. He has also competed in Dubai. In 2018, Alex and Glen moved to Sand Moor Golf Club to pursue their golfing careers at a larger club located just 5 miles from Leeds City Centre. Glen took charge of the Junior Academy at Sand Moor. In 2019 Sand Moor Juniors won the Leeds & District Junior Cup and then won their League promoting them to the next division. Glen continues to work on strengthening the team. Glen has a huge passion for junior development and likes to give back the opportunities he was fortunate to have as a junior.
